patches Posted April 18, 2022 Share #1003 Posted April 18, 2022 Just now, patches said: Fifth Army Mobile Radio Station Tab. Best ones I can find are these, this Branch Unassigned Officer is 2nd Lt Vern Carstensen, and he seems to be wearing a variant of these. not sure what Carstensen's says towards the front of his Tab, maybe 5th A? seanmc1114 Posted May 6, 2022 Share #1006 Posted May 6, 2022 Any ideas about this one? I copied the info from the Facebook post where I found it. Apparently the 4th Special Troops Battalion has the nickname "Trailblazers".

patches Posted May 20, 2022 Share #1008 Posted May 20, 2022 German made 63rd Infantry Division tabs, not sure on HOTSHOTS, maybe a Company nickname??? (Tab originally posted a ways back by member easterneagle on a now deleted topic, deleted because of non viewable off site host images, his were the only ones one could view still, so we saved them before topic was deleted). Interesting tab, thanks for posting. 4th Inf Div Sust Bde known as "Rough Riders", 4th IDSTB known as "Trailblazers" so all I can think is that an element of the 172 Med Det was giving support the the BDE/BN and combined the names into the tab. Just a guess mind you.

DMc13 Posted June 2, 2022 Share #1012 Posted June 2, 2022 We had these made for my unit during OIF 06-08. Crazyhorse was my unit's callsign.
jim46 Posted June 6, 2022 Share #1013 Posted June 6, 2022 Locally-made Eighth Army tab for Seoul Area Command Transportation Motor Pool. There was probably a matching Eighth Army patch, as the tab is a darker red than usual. The fabric almost looks like velvet, and although you might not be able to see it in the photo of the reverse side, it was backed with lined notebook paper. Along with the tabs is the teen-aged Army wrecker driver's calling card from his second tour in Korea, about 1960.
seanmc1114 Posted June 8, 2022 Share #1014 Posted June 8, 2022 Some photos from the reactivation ceremony for the 11th Airborne Division which took place in Alaska on June 6, 2022. I assume this means the ARCTIC tab is no longer an individual skill badge like the RANGER, SPECIAL FORCES and SAPPER tabs, but is instead now part of the organizational SSI of the division. This photo is prior to Rooney's military service. He was with Army Special Services, specifically assigned to US Army Jeep Shows. Army Special Services was completely diff from Armed Forces Radio Service. ASMIC pubbed an article on Rooney's military service in the AJ 2006 issue of the Trading Post. A Jeep Show patch is depicted with this post.
