solcarlus Posted June 13, 2017 #1 Posted June 13, 2017 Bonjour. I'd like to introduce you to a stretcher found in flea market. Stencils Field Hostital 25 (3rd Div.) Solcarlus.
littlewilly Posted June 13, 2017 #5 Posted June 13, 2017 Wow! I wonder how many of these still survive. Probably hard to fit into most collections, but worth a try if you have some room. MHJ
Bob Hudson Posted June 13, 2017 #6 Posted June 13, 2017 Field hospital No. 27 had a "shock team" to get immediate treatment to the most sverely wounded. I know some field hospitals in the far rear lines didn't have loads of combat wounded coming in, but F.H. No. 27 seems to have been in the midst of it, and a stretcher like this probably got lots of use. On Army source online says, "Field Hospital No. 27 was designated as the triage and located at Verdelot, about 17 km. (10.5 miles) back of the lines."
RustyCanteen Posted June 13, 2017 #7 Posted June 13, 2017 Hi Solcarlus! Beautiful example, and 1917 dated too. Regards, RC
solcarlus Posted June 14, 2017 Author #10 Posted June 14, 2017 Bonjour. Thank you for the interest. I own four stretchers from the same time. In addition to the front areas, there were also the "training areas". Which makes it possible to find equipment. I have a little room to store.;-) solcarlus.
Brian Keith Posted June 14, 2017 #11 Posted June 14, 2017 Great find and excellent exhibit! I have a couple but the canvas hasn't survived. Thanks for posting it. BKW
mhalstead1950 Posted June 14, 2017 #12 Posted June 14, 2017 Great find and great display, thanks for sharing.
Tswa Posted May 8, 2020 #14 Posted May 8, 2020 I love the exhibit! Is this in your house or a museum-type place? Terri

solcarlus Posted June 22, 2021 Author #21 Posted June 22, 2021 Hi croix de guerre. No, I don't have a French stretcher in my collection. Cordialement. Solcarlus.
