Brig Gen Alva Fitch  3rd_Armored Division Artillery Commander in West Germany in the mid-sh 50s wearing the 3rd Armored Division PTC on Green Loops without Tab, nor does his patch have the Tab yet either. Fitch, West Point 1930 was captured in the PI, as 2nd Battalion Commander of the 71st Field Artillery of the new Filipino 71st Division

 

His DSC citation mistakenly has the 91st Field Artillery as his unit, as there was a 91st Coast Artillery (PS) thee was no 91st Field Artillery.

The 82nd's NCBU again, like sometime in the 70s.

 

Officer is one Colonel John Cooke, perhaps a Brigade C.O. no further info other then his Obit which no mention of units.

My guess would be a staff officer, probably division Chief of Staff. Note he is wearing the oval for Headquarters, 82nd AIrborne Division. If he were a brigade commander, the oval would have one, two or three ticks to represent the brigade. He's wearing an oak leaf cluster on his National Defense Service medal ribbon and also has a Meritorious Service Medal, so this was probably taken in the 1970's.

Another Air Trans Command PTC  on a coat worn by a  Charles E. Seemann 1328th AAF Base Unit CBI unit was in India. (From member Timberwolf).

Another Korean War era 6th Army PTC with just the star and A without the OD disc, a fella named Charles Allen Ford sometime in 1951 or 52. He interstyly dosn't wear the 6th Army patch for whatever reason, I suspect this was taken at some post, Ord or Lewis would be my guess, which are under 6th Army when he was going through AIT of an unknown branch.

One Leo J. Foltz, Jr. in Field Artillery AIT Fort Sill Oklahoma summer of 1951 wears the 4th Army PTC, and interestingly the WWII era Field Artillery Replacement Training Center DI on the cap.

A bit of a follow up on the continued wear of the WWII Era Field Artillery Replacement Training Center DI.

 

Seems they still used it into the 50s, as seen on this 1952 Fort Sill AIT Graduation Yearbook, note it is still called by its WWII Designation Field Artillery Replacement Training Center.

We think it stopped being worn in May 1954, with the old Field Artillery School (Adopted March 1930) was readopted, and the designation Field Artillery Replacement Training Center is dropped, with it now being designated as The Artillery School.

I Field Force Vietnam worn on the cap of a member of the 1st Battalion 22nd Infantry in 1971. The battalion remained in Vietnam after the rest of the 4th Infantry Division left in 1970. Note he is wearing the less common style of the subdued IFFV SSI with the upper right half of the shield being black rather than olive green. The more common varity with a black sword and band on a fully olive green shield is shown for comparison.

9th Army uniform currently posted on FB Marketplace. There is an imprint of a pin on the right lapel.  This could be for a second 9th Army DUI. OR.. the DUI was supposed to go on the overseas hat and was just pinned to the uniform.

This 66th ID DI is on a medical corps piped cap. Named + ASN and IDd. The 413th is directly embr into the inf piped cap. Unk owner, no markings
