General Apathy Posted December 26, 2018 Share #13576 Posted December 26, 2018 What were you delivering???? . Hi Johan, I was delivering a scenic image of the Church and Ste Mere Eglise for the tourists wondering around . . . . . . Actually I was delivering a Jeep full of friends to the bar for a mid-morning mulled wine Christmas drink. . . . . . . . Its actually quite fun tooling around in an open Jeep in the depths of December. Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, December 26 2018. . They say that a good joke depends on the delivery. The jeep in the beach bunker photo sure looked strange with that windshield up and roof on. Not the Ken way we've come to know and love. Who knows Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk . Hi Owen, thanks for putting a full report on the forum, to be honest as I said to Nigel at Milweb a few days ago ' we have been interested all our lives reading, visiting, AND owning a lot of militaria from WWI & WWII and we aint seen anything yet, how much is still out there '. here's piece that was uncovered by the storms a few days ago on Utah beach, think its an unused smoke container, we have seen hundreds exposed over the last ten years. ( I think I showed these eleven years ago somewhere in the first ten pages. ) Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, December 29 2018. . Hi Mikie and Rene, I think Mikie is right, the right generation, doing the right thing, just the wrong photo for June 1944, they all contributed wherever or however they fought. Norman D. kammo-man Posted December 29, 2018 Share #13597 Posted December 29, 2018 Ken , Its like when you start collecting. Hunt hunt hunt. Find find find. Then one day you think you have everything......... Then you find some more. Then you visit other collections and see even more. You know you get to the point of selling up. Its fun .......the whole cycle. Hi Owen, exactly right, once you start collecting the hunt goes on and on, and the younger you start the longer the hunt and the more you collect, I am still amazed at things I see that I have never seen. Also the items I tried to find and never found . . . . . Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, January 02 2019. .
