That's some good stuff.  I see several WW2 units that were short-lived or never left the US. Those can be difficult to track the history on those. The 757th trained guards, policed, and watched POW's at Camp George West, CO. The unit never left the US, but several still got "overseas service" and ribbons, as teams were organized and sent to North Africa to collect POW's, and escort them back to Geo. West. The 772nd cadre was trained at the LAPD Academy, and sent to guard the massive Boeing plants in Washington. The DUI was unofficial, until approved in 1951.

Where did you get all of this info? Wow :(    These are standard AN6530 goggles with dual cushion vs single cushion. Used by both: NAVY and AAF flyers with ALL types of helmets during the war.  For A-11 they will work as well...

Well you sort of have the 322nd, but you also have the 744th MP Bn. The 744th trained at Ft. Sam Houston, but saw service at Ft. Lewis and Hanford, WA. (Yes; The Hanford site that made "heavy water"). It had it's companies deactivated over 1944-1945, but the Bn. HQ somehow ended up deploying to the Pacific, got battle credits for Leyte and Luzon, and was deactivated in Japan in 1946. It was reflagged as the 322nd MP Bn. (OR) in Wilkes-Barre, PA from 1947-1952. In 1953, it was again redesignated the 744th (on paper), even though it would not see reactivation until 1991. (Moved to Bethlehem, PA, keeping the lineage, but changing to a different DUI.)    I was never sure of the 391st DUI, as I could never find a 391st MP being active or any MP unit having that motto or DUI.

Nice pickup! The stains you posted and the oxidation on the meat can pouch are totally normal and with use the Oxidization will wear off. If your using this for reenacting g your in good shape. Your pack doesn’t need to be sparkly clean. The rust stains and stains I. General I the fabric will be extremely hard to get out as they’ve had A LONG time to set in there. So there’s likely not much you can do.

So this is kind of amazing. bought the photo because I though it was a crisp and interesting photo of a WWII era plane. Turns out this photo was taken at Pearl City, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where the California Clipper was docked on December 3rd and 4th before departing for Fiji & New Caledonia, on the way to New Zealand. It missed the Japanese attack by just 3 days. I found film of this on YouTube!   This film footage on YouTube shows the plane in dock at this location from the shore on the right side of my photo. You can see the seawall and the spotlights and flagpole at the beginning of the video clip that match up with the photo. Flag is sticking up just to the left of the 2nd engine (from right) in the photo.  The white boat can also be seen in both the film footage and photo.  So this snapshot was taken either Dec 3 or Dec 4, 1941, in the calm before the storm that would change history - not only the history of this plane, but of the world.    YouTube link:
