We were assigned at different times to the Bassac River, Cat Lo, Chou Duc and Sadec. Here’s a picture of me wearing this helmet cover. -

Here’s my cover I brought back from Vietnam in March 1970. I spent 6 months on Coastal patrol out of Cam Ranh Bay (Coastal Division 14) and 6 months on River patrol out of Binh Thuy (Coastal Division 13). While on Coastal there was no need for Camo covers. The helmets were painted using Grey paint. In the Rivers is where I got this cover. It was on the Swift Boat on a regular M1 helmet and liner that I never paid any attention to. I was considered “Short” in January 1970 when I started my 60 day countdown to going back to the “World”. I remember writing stuff on my cover during a boring time. I was a Navy Lieutenant (JG) at the time. -

I am looking for an 1874-1880 US Cavalry crossed sword insignia but don’t know correct size and fasteners type. I know there are a lot of reproduction and misidentified items for sale. Also was the regiment number attached to the swords at this time. I’m looking for one that would be appropriate for the 4th regiment. Thanks. -
