To be honest, I only Posted it for informational purposes, simply as as an example of the Type, & a Photograph of  the Star's placement upon the Ribbon Drape. I myself was fortunate enough to have obtained a 'double' Silver Citation Star example Victory Medal years ago which was included amongst a multi piece Grouping, & that, along with the fact that they show up infrequently were the primary reasons I Posted it here. My particular Group was my very first WW1 26th Yankee Division Group, which later became my primary Collecting Interest & remains so until this day. And just for the Record as they say, my Group was obtained way back in 1978 +/-, & was all being housed in an old Leather Coated, Monogrammed Seagram's Whiskey Bottle 'Gift Box', or similar item. The Recipient was PFC Bernard R. Garrity, Battery C, 103rd Field Artillery, 26 Y/D, A.E.F. I know I should be Posting some of these Groups up, but as happens I always end up getting sidetracked & put it off 'until the proverbial tomorrow' !!                       Best,      Dom

Thanks for your output. And no there is one uniform. I changed the US collar badge if that was your concern.

This is a photo of a friends uncle who served between 1941 and 1945.  His collar brass indactes he was an MP.  His shoulder patch reflects US Army Antiaircraft Artillery Command Eastern Defense Command.   The lapel insignia baffles me?   Thanks   Tom

Two uniforms for the same soldier? They seem to be in pristine condition. Honorably discharged infantry officer with up to a posible 11 months of service in the Zone of Operations. He has the Mexican Border Service Medal and WW1 Victory Medal. What information is on the attached tag on the second coat?

I offer no help but a suggestion--- If you can identify the outfit or even a division these men were in would be a big help in finding anything on them. Knowing where they were from might help also. Start with FindaGrave, and go on from there. Good Luck in your searches.        Steve

Due to the increase in server and hosting costs, we are working on implementing some space-saving and cost-cutting measures that will allow the forum to remain online and active without greatly impacting the key features and participation of the community. One of the moves forward that we are taking is putting into place a software function that will automatically delete messages in all member inboxes after a certain amount of time since the last response.   For example, you have a private message with another member and you respond to it daily or weekly - that message will remain in your inbox forever, as long as it is active. On the other hand, if you message with someone and then stop replying and it sits there with no responses for more than 90 days, then it will automatically be deleted. (If you want to keep something, you would make sure and reply to it before the time limit).   This will go into effect on September 1, 2025. If you have saved PMs from the past that you are keeping for reference, please take advantage of the remaining time to save any information or images to your computer or storage area for future reference. Once the messages are deleted, there is no way to restore them. So, please make sure and save anything you may want at a later date!    The USMF Admins thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Something to think about, if the family sold it at an estate sale why would they want it back?   And if you want to contact the family why not get ahold of the estate sale company and let them make contact for you?
