Just came across this… Dont know why, Ken, but he always makes me think of you… ’This week in 2014, Phil Collins donated his vast personal collection of artifacts from the Battle of Alamo to the Texas General Land Office - which can be viewed as the "Phil Collins collection" at The Alamo museum. Phil was also recognised as an honorary Texan in the Senate for his contribution!‘ -

. Hi Kevin, Thanks, please don't take this as a negative rant at your efforts to help, I do appreciate all and any input. I hope this explains my reasoning on ensuring we find the correct definition of factory condition. I have seen that piece on the internet BUT I still don't know if that IS positive proof. I wish to find / see the finish on unused pieces, as we all know Jeeps left the factory in ' one ' colour BUT were sprayed again all over O.D. at unit level including the axe and shovel prior to D-Day . . . . . M-1 helmets left the factory in one colour with cork chips to disrupt the light reflection, BUT how many times were helmets ' reconditioned ' during service life. We can and do find unissued helmets which gives us / shows us the factory finish and that's what a lot of collectors desire in their collection. Here's a US Jerrycan in what appears to be original factory finish colour, however once you see the repair section at the top of the can then it's obvious that this is no longer a factory finish can.
