He didn't have any extra 3rd Army patches but had plenty of 44th Division patches (the unit he was in when he was transported to Germany during the war).  The 3rd Army patch is an easy patch to find if you need one.  If you are looking for one for a display case to represent your dad's service, look for a patch that has a cut edge, not merrowed edge.  Those came out in the late 60s.

Perhaps Mr. Dorsey  was a frustrated WW2 carpenter and had trouble cutting 45 degree miter angles, or the Austrian patch maker was not so fluent in English.

And here's a view of the sides of the game box, one showing the good guys and the other the baddies.

Among the avalanche of items marketed during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, I never knew of a board game being made during the time period until this item I found at a flea market.  It's not only unusual because of what it is but also because it was made in Malaysia in 1990, not the US.

I received the package with all of the accoutrements from Mr. George Dorsey's family. I posted pictures of front and reverse of all the patches. I will need to get another image of the stamping on the PH. I was not expecting the two green bullion tabs, but they came with the group. They look very similar in construction to the two AUstrian made bullion patches. I cannot find any reference to anything other than a WW2 fighter Squadron and one of the 11th AB units. Hopefully someone can shed some light on these tabs.  I am confident that Mr. Dorsey was a respectable citizen, and not a member of a MC gang. They did not say anything about his "cut"

I got this real nice magazine belt and Korean war ammo bags today. It's amazing the condition that a lot of things are still in to this day. A testament to 80 year old manufacturing techniques and materials. Of course they appear to have been well taken care of.

Ha! At our old place, a neighbor had a VW Bug. Every so often his buddies would flip it upside down overnight. Always something interesting.  I have to mention that the neighbor’s mother often used to give us the most amazingly delicious homemade enchiladas. Wonderful stuff. 30+ years later I still dream about them.  mikie
