Hello All, I believe this example is considered the "1958 Pattern" - is my research correct? I am curious if the "592" mark has been attributed to a specific maker, or if anyone knows it's significance. Thank you. Eric -

I do not see a hole for the primer nor do I see the base stamps normally found on a shell. I know post war company's retooled to rebuild the economy. If this were early post war it would have been stamped with made in occupied Japan. -

What did you use as a base liner? Post war US? Or maybe even Belgian liner. -

I have looked a bit in the past and never had a great answer. The BGS discs turn up a lot with Texas ROTC discs. So I would lean towards some Texas school ROTC program. Maybe Blooming Grove (High) School. -

Wow, what a guy! It is incredible to read about these heroics, and the self sacrifice. Thank you for sharing this again. I am humbled, and shall continue to honour all of that generation.. Cheers Graham -

Hi Ken, great to see these! A rare survivor in Normandy. Here is a photo of its contents. Many thanks for thinking of me. I haven't got to that museum yet.... Cheers Graham -

Since my grandfather was Coastal Artillery…I’m favoring the patch….looks like the mice enjoyed the tunic/jacket….and made a nice warm nest out of the wool. Not sure if there is any more physical mouse evidence ..I would salvage for pieces based upon possible “mouse evidence” and health. -

Honestly, I’d make it into a wounded solider missing his arm as an aid station display or something, it’s kinda cool.
