Hey guys, I've what I thought was a simple question but finding no confirmation just 2 opinion camps...are these kits US NARINE CORP or US MEDICAL CORP? Personally I thought Marine as most medical issue items I've seen (WW2) were MEDICAL DEPARTMENT marked. Your thoughts? Thanks

As the others have said,  dating these and placing them to a specific location in history is nearly impossible.    I have an unpublished midway submarine base photo album with photos of the bar area that is heavily decorated with presumably tender-made dolphins.  They were used during the period but also for many years afterwards.

I saw one of these lenses repurposed onto a piece of prototype molecular biology equipment.  The optics are obviously exceptional.

Ha-ha....if I find any nice WW2 bayonets for sale at a gun show, flea market or at a widow ladies garage sale for $35, it's coming home with me 😀

One of my customers is a Gunsmith up near Edinburgh , Scotland and from time to time he gets requests from the police to handle various firearms that they find. Recently this Thompson 1928 A1 turned up in an attic about 10 miles from his place. Apparently the recently deceased owner had carried it during the assault on Cherbourg according to some notes that were in the property. He is going to arrange to get a copy of them to see what the back story is to this piece. It's fully working and will be cleaned, checked, proof tested and then will go into an auction house for disposal overseas as a still live fully operational piece.
