O it for sure would. But in recent years I know the military has been cracking down on stuff like that. Mostly because it gets out of hand quickly if you know what I mean.

I’m located in CT and have been reenacting USAAF since 1998. There isn’t a group based in New England, but I’m working with a few other reenactors in CT to drum something up here. I joined the Capital Wing of the Airmens Preservation Society. The group is made up of folks from PA, MD, VA, and DC, but there are a couple of us from New England. Reading’s WWII Weekend is our big show each year but we also participate in events at NASM, Ike’s Farm in PA, the Military Aviation Museum in VA Beach, and others. I’m currently working toward collaboration with the New England Air Museum.    Here’s our group page on FB. I’m one of the admins. We’d be happy to have you. We’re a hospitable and easy going bunch.     https://www.facebook.com/share/1C59FbMeGH/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Currently posted on the 'bay, Aviation Ordnance, Okinawa VP-4, w/ blue belt, named to: ARENDS, D.J. (David J.). I like it when the name is carved into the top plate of the buckle.

I would expect to see some sort of ghosting from the chicken wire which slightly concerns me. Similar to ghosting in US M1’s that do it did have nets on at some point.

Yeah, I "kept scrolling" when I saw it last night, then - after sleeping on it - felt a sense of responsibility.  I've probably seen 20-30 CW German helmets over the past 25 years, three (maybe four) of them looked original.

I was having coffee this morning and saw this helmet and had the very same thought.  I really didn't want to rain on the OP's parade so just kept scrolling....   I agree though.  The wire gives me pause.  The lack of interaction concerns me.  The fresh rust on the rim I don't like.  I think somebody has tried to add value to a beat up shell.

Interesting challenge coins. The 4 star coin would likely win you a drink if you were in the military and at a bar with other service members!
