Just got this today.his grandfather was in the us navy WW2 UTILITY KNIFE MADE BY WESTERN .NICE BLUED BLADE THESE ARE LESS COMMON THEN KA BAR MARK 2 KNIVES ENJOY LOOKING.

After the sad loss of Tudor last year his jeep has sat in the garage and couldn't be started. Yesterday I got to pay a visit to see his wife and parents with the object of trying to get it sorted out for them. It wouldn't turn over more than once, wouldn't fire up and wouldn't with the crank either. Ran through all the basics, checked and cleaned where required then moved onto the next stage . Once I knew I had a good spark, good fuel to the carb and after couple of turns on the crank handle ( battery was not holding charge ) it fired up and ran. First time since before Tudors passing that it had run. An emotional moment for us all , so glad I could help, last time I did anything on a jeep was back in 1987, so wasn't sure I could help, but you don't forget, just don't bend as easily as I did back then. I bought the “perma press” fatigues at the Ft Dix PX in 1979 while still an ROTC cadet.  Bought a set of very used  OG 107 fatigues soon after arriving at Ft Hood in 1980.  They were a bit faded and looked great when starched like a board.  But, as stated above, would never mix and match the two types.  Would have looked terrible.   And then the Elvis BDU’s came along in 1982, so I never wore the OD fatigues again.  Those first issue BDU’s were SO hot in the Texas summer.  And, the sun and washing turned the black portion of the camo to a shade of purple.  Looked terrible.    I should add I wore the same fatigue “baseball”  cap with both the OG 107 fatigues and the newer “perma press” type.  

For reference.   A large / broad shield pattern Dallas wing sold at auction (CNY Militaria & Collectibles) today for $2600. Attached are several screenshots.  I tried to add the link to the auction, but was unsuccessful.    

Saw this on FB Mkt out of Salisbury, MD. Don't think it has sold yet. USS Ranger, CV-61, F#*^ With Us, We'll Do It Again.    

That is truly amazing that it survived the crusher!
