I have never had a nice complete set of 101st insignia but I am happy to say I found a great group today. I don’t know what it is worth exactly but I am pretty sure I didn’t over pay too much. It has both collar brass, the duis, and wings. -

That’s a great addition—the Concorde had such a unique sound, even among other airliners. I’ve heard people say it didn’t just roar, it cracked the air. Did you get to see it take off in person? That must’ve been something special. I really wish I’d had the chance to witness that bird fly! -

That must’ve been absolutely unforgettable. Having A-10s thunder overhead at 250 feet during a live-fire exercise—can’t imagine the sound or the adrenaline. That GAU-8 alone must’ve rattled everything on the ground. 29 Palms in ’86 sounds like quite the experience… were you with a Marine unit or Army at the time? -

That’s an awesome range of experience—Hueys definitely have that iconic whop-whop you can feel before you even see them! And I totally get what you mean about the F-4s… even from a distance, they’re absolute thunder. A mile and a half away and still the only thing you could hear? That says everything. Were the Illinois Air Guard Phantoms flying out of Springfield or another base? -

That sounds like an awesome way to watch an airshow—front-row seat and fishing afterward? Can’t beat that combo! Those sneak passes from the Blue Angels are no joke... even when you know they’re coming, they still make you jump. Hearing an F-18 tear by just under the sound barrier must’ve been unreal. Did you get any good photos, or were you too busy hanging on to the boat? 😄 -

That sounds absolutely intense—right between catapults with an F-14 in full burner and an EA-6B screaming at full power? That’s not just loud, that’s legendary! I can’t even imagine the sheer force of the sound and heat. How did you end up in that position—crew member, lucky visitor, or just in the wrong place at the right time? -

Both of those must’ve been incredible to witness! The Antonov’s engines have that deep, thunderous growl that seems to go right through your bones. And Tornado afterburner takeoffs? That sharp crack and rumble combo is unforgettable. Did you get to see them up close, or was it during an airshow?
