      They're in the National Archives - Civil War regimental documents - US Volunteers - 'Galvanized Yankees'   I've trolled through them several times while researching the Northwest Indian Expedition, specifically those posted at Fort Rice, Dakotah Territory.

Dr Smietana opened a medical practice in Montebello after graduating from medical school, specializing in gynecology and obstetrics.
