My mother was born in Cornwall, England and enlisted in the Royal Observer Corps on her 18th birthday, during WW2. Mom's title was  "Map Plotter". MI-9 printed escape maps on silk for British air crews.  My mother met Dad at the Royal Operations Room, Truro, Cornwall, during the planning of the D-Day invasion. The U.S Army unit MIS-X also made oiled cloth escape maps for the US Navy.

Jun 20 - 2025.  Brig, g'afternoon.  Donna Wosk here.  We still have various Rifle / Sharpshooter / Pistol badges.  Almost all of the remaining are pot metal as I recall.  ( I promise not to try and measure them.... ). Once we have the requisite x30 posts, we can post pictures etc....  We still have the( oddly measured ) Au Para Wing,  and I wonder if 2-3/4" is the correct  measurement.  Donna / San Diego

When you say Sea Bee are you saying a US Navy Sea Bee would have made the flag? If so how did they get the writing on it? Would a Japanese American placed the writing on it?

I'll add another:  As far as commercial aircraft, the loudest I can ever remember hearing at takeoff was the Concorde.
