Throwing this out there for the collective, give it your best shot-- In what instances (or units) would you find that a WW1 soldier (or officer) would NOT have a SSI on his uniform..?? Unassigned would be a fair answer, but how about a unit that simply didn't have one to apply to a uniform..? Thanks in advance. -

Sad news. I never had any interaction with him but I hope he is at peace. -

The attached image is reputed to be an RKO Studios prop patch representing the 733d Bomb Sqdn (H) . The 733dBS did not have an approved emblem during WWII, so there are no images in their official file. If anyone has a better representation of this design, or anything that would support its existence during WWII, I would appreciate a posting. RW -

Cast repro with clutch back pin. Pretty sure the CSA did not use clutch backs. -

I finally managed to get one of the last bits missing for my jeep 🥰 While technically one of the easiest to find parts for a WW2-era jeep since both Willys and Ford got them from the same two sources (Purolator and Fram), I had been looking for an original oil filter housing for a while. Obviously, Murphy's Law dictates that none of sellers at several shows had one. Well they had plenty they said, just didn't bother to bring any to that show. But a few weeks ago Ken messaged me he saw a few examples for sale at the Collins Museum near Blosville in Normandy. I contacted them and they reserved one for me. Luckily a friend visited Normandy 2 weeks ago, he was willing to go to the museum and after explaining to the staff he was there at my request he could buy it for me. Yesterday he was around where I work and he dropped it off for me 😊 Thanks for the heads-up Ken! 😀 -

Link The link above is a very good read on the T43 tank development, it became the M103. The T123 gun it seems became the M58 gun. The casing you have was the propellant only, as the gun used 2 piece ammo. I'd love to find a casing like that! -
