I noticed a bleed over on front and rear seam manganese helmets. This would help if you find a rear seam with a lot number that falls in the 1944 range.

Also, to add to that, D-day is obviously the most popular jump with people wanting That configuration of helmet. There were other jumps like varsity so if you want a para helmet like P-59 said, get an M1C it’s still technically a ww2 era Jump helmet.

Has anyone seen these Penguin Hand Held Smoke Cartridges? I found these in a late 1960s SV-2 survival vest. They apparently attach to the pen flare launcher. Did the military ever adopt them?  Interesting.  Cheers

No mixing and matching the OG107 and OG507.  They were very different material.  You had to make at least a token effort to make your shirt and pants patch in terms of fading, wear, etc.     I actually numbered my shirts and trousers once I had figured out which ones matched best.   There were some permanent press fatigues that were available at the PX once the Army okayed them, but they were slightly different from the issue ones that came out a year or so later.  I got a set of each, and wore them almost exclusively saving me the hassle of getting the OG-107s starched and pressed.

I can't thank you enough.  Wonderful to get know these soldiers more and even see faces!   As for the last name, that is a tough one, but my best guess is the last name is RENNELLA  or RENNELLO  or possible starting with a P.  Here's the best images I could get. This is only my humble opinion. You are more likely to find a front seam manganese rim M1C helmet than a D bail. Finding a fat buckle Westinghouse factory liner is even easier. I paired mine up to make a M1C helmet that I know was of the type used for Varsity. It may not have been used in Varsity but its correct. Some times close is good enough.     Lets suppose one day you find that hens tooth D bail. You could always sell off your M1C, but until then you have a legit WW2 para helmet to fill the space until you find it.     

I don't believe this is for the .38 S&W Victory pistol.  Looks like it's for a British Webley revolver.

The blade does look like a modified Ka-bar type knife, handle is hard to say.
