The US did the same thing the Germans did after 1943….. they ground the 3 off dies and just used a single “4’ for 1944. Cheaper and quick fix. -

Those are the two types of late war M1C helmets that would have come with the two types of Westinghouse factory liners. Of course things got mixed and matched over the years with other helmets. These are as close to what they should look like for period correct helmets. -

Very cool. I've seen YouTube videos about kits like this: larger turbojets, high-bypass turbofans, and I believe a turboprop (like your turboshaft with a prop gearbox attached). Perhaps you could post a more detailed kit build review in the model building forums. -

I would have to take exception to this. Many US sweetheart jewelry items were cast - see below for two common examples. -

This is the front seam. Read the post. This type was worn in Varsity based on the photo's I posted before. This helmet was put together with one of the fat buckles I have. It's period correct, but has no history due to the fact I added the correct liner to the helmet. -

Sounds like a fun project! I would suggest trying the g503.com forums as well, they cater to all sorts of military vehicles not just jeeps.
