Those are the two types of late war M1C helmets that would have come with the two types of Westinghouse factory liners. Of course things got mixed and matched over the years with other helmets. These are as close to what they should look like for period correct helmets. -

Very cool. I've seen YouTube videos about kits like this: larger turbojets, high-bypass turbofans, and I believe a turboprop (like your turboshaft with a prop gearbox attached). Perhaps you could post a more detailed kit build review in the model building forums. -

I would have to take exception to this. Many US sweetheart jewelry items were cast - see below for two common examples. -

This is the front seam. Read the post. This type was worn in Varsity based on the photo's I posted before. This helmet was put together with one of the fat buckles I have. It's period correct, but has no history due to the fact I added the correct liner to the helmet. -

Sounds like a fun project! I would suggest trying the g503.com forums as well, they cater to all sorts of military vehicles not just jeeps. -

Bgurth3, The link I sent you on my KW helmet is correct for that M1C. The rear seem manganese rim with the wire buckle Westinghouse is very late WW2 and nothing I have found indicates they were used in WW2. The paint on the helmet is WW2. It was not repainted for Korea. That is a IDed combat worn helmet, read the post. I will look for my post on the front seam manganese rim. -

Thank you for the added pictures. I don't think it is government work. Pockets possibly shortened for shorter rounds. Not sure what the other buttons could be for. Thanks for sharing. -

Sad news. May he rest in peace. I remember he and his father, Bob from the Great Western Shows in the late 1980s. -

Wow, you guys never disappoint. The Pederson Device pouch doesn’t really fit my collection but I really like the grenade launcher case. I’ll fill it out with a piece of PVC for my display. thank you gentlemen! Tom
