I'm a member of a Southern Appalachian medical history research consortium. Our archive and museum has very limited scope. We received a donation of a collection of Letterman Hospital monthly newsletters entitled The Fog Horn that were published during World War II. These are from the personal estate of an Army nurse who was employed there. We haven't done an inventory of the dates. The newsletters are available on-line at the Internet Archive -- https://archive.org/search?query=subject%3A"Letterman+Hospital" We'd like to sell these to raise money for our Appalachian nursing museum. But, we don't know where or in what groupings/lots would be best. If someone has a suggestion, we'd be grateful. -

The JKash thread I was referring to earlier… those are some killer helmet OP! Yes, M1C’s have been debated over many times I’m going to choose not to say anything since I don’t want anyone to pop in here and say otherwise and hijack the topic. So I recommend you use the search function and search up M1C, theres plenty of good topics on them and there use in Varsity here in the forum. -

True, but I think the evidence is stacked in the raider side. So congratulations you found a raider uniform in the wild! -

This is pinned at the top. Read this, in the beginning everyone thought it was good until they started looking at it real hard. It's worth the read. -

Attached of my pics of current helmets I own. My biggest issue is just the Westinghouse para liners and what shells they mate up to. M1's, M2's or M1C's. All I see in the market is M1C's. And everything I've read is that they are late war and have not seen much action. I have no opinion, since I don't know much. Should I not discount looking at M1C's? -

I believe this a WWII .38 S&W Victory Revolver; Is it US made or is this possibly British made? Thanks for the help. -

It's always sad to lose a font of knowledge, but especially so when the individual shares broadly. And a dog person...sigh. Godspeed, Eric. -

I just received the NCO Academy leadership tab and I would like to know which academy used it. The tab is dark blue (not black) and uses snaps to fasten it to the epaulet. Thanks. -

I hunt the old fashion way. I get out and look around at swap meet's and I know a few pickers who will call me if they think they have something that might interest me. I found 4 Westinghouse M1C liners at a surplus store years ago in a box full of helmets and liners that just arrived from Norway or Holland or some place near them. The yokes were tucked up in the webbing. I had never held one before so I stuffed them at the bottom of the box and raced home to do some quick research then raced back to buy them. I paid 20 bucks a pop for each with a helmet. That helmet I sewed the chin strap on was one of them. I sold two and kept two. I picked up the other ones later. That Inland liner was one a picker found and showed me. I could have bought it for a song, but I knew he could use the money so I told him what he had so he could make a few bucks more than what he was asking.
