The thing about that helmet is the fixed bail with the para chin strap. The D bail is what one normally see's. Did they do that with fixed bails? I guess, but I am not aware of that being done at the factory. Normally you see Westinghouse M1C liners matted up to a swivel bail helmet. The helmets are front or rear seem manganese rim. Lets see details on that helmet, the fixed bails and chin strap. -

What about the helmet? Fixed bail with buckles that connect to liner. so the liner is late 44? so my next question is, if Westinghouse liners were used on D-Day, what were they equipped with? -

Any fat buckle Westinghouse M1C liner is going to be late war 44-45. The wire buckle is 45-post war?. The one in the photo is good. That helmet is another matter. Better photos of that chinstrap bail set up would be needed. -
