The thing about that helmet is the fixed bail with the para chin strap. The D bail is what one normally see's. Did they do that with fixed bails? I guess, but I am not aware of that being done at the factory. Normally you see Westinghouse M1C liners matted up to a swivel bail helmet. The helmets are front or rear seem manganese rim. Lets see details on that helmet, the fixed bails and chin strap.

What about the helmet? Fixed bail with buckles that connect to liner.   so the liner is late 44?   so my next question is, if Westinghouse liners were used on D-Day, what were they equipped with?

Any fat buckle Westinghouse M1C liner is going to be late war 44-45. The wire buckle is 45-post war?. The one in the photo is good. That helmet is another matter. Better photos of that chinstrap bail set up would be needed.
