As an update, only visible marks I can see on the barrel after disassembly is a "P" and "F" on each side.

Hello all! I recently acquired a Field Grade Remington Rand from the Civilian Marksman Program. Serial number 215XXXX puts it manufacturered in 1945. It also came with an old repair tag from Combined Support Maintenance Shop, Massachusetts Army National Guard for what appears to be a broken safety. Not sure what the date is on it, but "DD Form 1577-2 1 OCT 66" is printed on the bottom of the tag (didn't get captured in the photo). I haven't taken it apart yet to really dig into it, but I am curious to know what can I find out about the history of this firearm and guidance on how I can get more information about it. Can anyone tell me what kind of finish it is? The finish of the thumb safety looks different which makes sense if there was a safety repair. I don't see any markings on the barrel but maybe I need to fully disassemble it? I am new to all this so happy to hear what anyone has to say. Thank you!

Hello,   I hope all is well.  I have 2 items that I might be interested in selling if the offer is satisfactory to me. Please let me know if these interest you and what price you would purchase them for.  The items are as follows and pictures are attached (I can send more per request). Thank you for your time.     1. Ww2 Ghurka soldier handmade Khukri knife with original sheath and two soldier CBI patches (one with blood stain)   2. 1800s French rifle bayonet with original sheath and triangular blade deemed too harsh for battle in Geneva convention due to the inflicted wound being basically untreatable and fatal to a soldier wounded   Best,    Victoria
