Around 10 years ago this knife was sold with a box that said "Hunting Knife" on the front of the box, but had side information "ART NO.: HK9936".  I did a Google search and found a knife company in Australia having had it, and one in Poland.  Hope this helps.

Hello New Jersey! Your Grandma prob had a boyfirend in the USMC before she met your Grandpa? Or could have been a friend of hers? Cousin? Seems like many Women did a similar thing. Here is a shot of my Grandmother wearing some of my Grandpas kit in France during WW1. They met in France. He was a clerk at AEF headquarters. Grandma was French. They were dating at the time of this photo. This would be about 107 years ago.

Thanks, yokota57. I can imagine some enterprising Vietnamese guy pondering some copper pipe scraps sitting around his shop and wondering “Could I solder a couple of pieces of that junk together, engrave some words on it, and actually sell it to some unsuspecting American collector?”
