I know that this was posted a long time ago, but the war front in Kirkland is a really nice store with lots of WWII and older items for good prices. -

Here's one I missed. A nice AF, I believe, Japan made ribbon rack but was slow to pull the trigger as I was hoping to bundle some other stuff with the guy. I missed out on a matching pair from a little shop in Dunsmuir, CA when I lived in that area years ago. I always thought they were pretty but didn't have $$ at the time to snag them. Maybe a forum member got this one. The hunt goes on! -

hi all. just received these "giants" boots. some 1951 dated black low quarter boots in basically mint condition. the look like theyre marked NYQMPA. my question is, what would these have been used for? dress? and why were they black? i thought army leather gear was still brown at that point. any help appreciated! -

Thanks for that video. I did see that a while back but until I actually tried tightening it up that I realized what an effort it is. My only previous experience was changing a barrel on the Bren. And that was so easy!!! I don’t have a big wrench or vise so I’ll need to think about this a bit. Don’t mind that smoke smell. It’s just me burning up some more of my ever scarcer brain cells. mikie -

Received this entire USO provide Religious Kit for a Protestant Service Man in the mail from a WWII vet's daughter. Thought it was very interesting that the entire kit has been preserved beautifully over the last 80+ years. Hope you enjoy the photos. -

Here's a little score out of Southern Cali. Saw it posted with a couple other non-P.I. buckles so I made them a deal and got it a pretty cheap price. "I'D RATHER BE SAILING" -

So there is such a thing! I'm afraid that the "scene" where I live is down to a handful of people relying on the internet. There aren't any fairs, collector's gatherings or meet-ups where one can come in to contact with buyers, sellers and other like-minded people. So how do I go about getting myself a "picker"? -

These were used by Michigan State Troops during WWII Peter. Very difficult to find info on them as Google searches get muddied with the State Police, and MSU... We have some of their items and unit histories at the museum, and somewhere we have a photo of these helmets in use by them. Scott
