Rest in Peace to my Vietnam Vet grandfather, Kenneth Nutter. He passed away on 5/21/2025. His nickname was "Gunner". He was in Na Trang as an S-2 Scout Sniper attached to 2/5. I believe he was there in Vietnam in the Fall of 1974, but I am not sure. When he first got there in Vietnam, he was with ANGLICO. Ken's first unit out of boot camp in September of 1972 was H&S Co, 2/5. His Scout Sniper school was at Camp Margarita. My grandpa, Ken "Gunner" Nutter was friends with a guy named Tim Yost. Tim supposedly killed himself in 1975. If anyone knew my grandpa, please tell me more about his experience. Thank you! -

Have you ever been to the museum at the 5th Regiment Armory in downtown Baltimore? Lots of great information on and militaria of the 29th ID. The focus is of course on the 115th and 175th Infantry as well as the 110th FA or the Maryland units of the division. With that said you should plan a trip. It’s small but any fan of the 29th ID should visit, the staff is also beyond friendly as well as very accommodating. -

Looks like a chain fire and the timing was off. First round off index fires, ball hits frame and ignites the adjacent damaged chambers blowing them out. Pretty violent, blowing out the nipples. Another scenerio, squib load, followed by another shot causing great back pressure and then the chain fire. First picture, left cylinder looks like it is from a Remington revolver. -

Wish I had a name to go with it. I tried searching locally online, but couldn't find anything. -
