Hello and welcome! I believe both cans are WWII era construction. Sorry but I cannot give an interpretation of the markings. I believe there is a post somewhere on the forum that explains them. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to answer you.  mikie

I’ll defer to expert (which I am not) opinions, but it looks like a .30-06 blank cartridge. LC is for Lake City arsenal. The 69 is the year 1969.  A picture of the top end would be good to add.  mikie

Thanks, No Relation, I am however Honored to be able to keep his Memory Alive. Its a Very sad story Only 22 years old when KIA. He never met his Daughter who was born only days before. His Wife Remarried in 1946 or 47 cant remember but Linda, his daughter was still very young and raised by her step father, She became a Teacher and  was sadly killed by a drunk driver. I suspect Her Husband may have still had this group when he passed and there was No one left to remember him. This group was sold by estate liquidators. The rest of the group was probably kept by his parents, interestingly all the letters are addressed to his Father even the ones from Peggy, guessing these were all kept by him and given to Peggy for Linda along with all his school books ,School photos, CPT Logs and Certificates AND more       Thanks Guys Much appreciated I get a lot of joy and fun putting these displays together . Its an Honor  

A new one poster here same seller

I recently picked up this 29th Infantry Division D-Day to St. Lo wall plaque. I found a thread on the form for the paper certificates but I can’t find any information on what is obviously a bronze copy of one of the paper ones. I have no idea how old it is or who manufactured the plaque. What I do know is that it weighs 2 pounds and it measures 8” by 10” and I believe it is bronze on wood and not much else. Don’t know if it was mass produced or a one of a kind and any information would be appreciated. 

Wanted to add that found absolutely no mention of US forces being involved in fighting with these forces.

Really like Allan’s explanation. Makes alot of sense especially when you piece all the bits of information. The actual French units were battalions not regiments, 8240’s comments that never seen before (same for me) and not depicted in any site regarding this subject. Great insight by Allan on Liberia using English. Definitely not the old American Football League.
