Here's an older thread on one: I am curious about something. The rifle went through an arsenal rebuild after WWII. Typically this is when the adjustable rear sight and bayonet lug were added. Some very late Inland and Winchesters, however, left the factory with them. Do you mind sharing SN? X out last three if you're not comfortable. You mentioned everything was Inland except the safety. Arsenal rebuilds typically are a mixed bag of parts because they were replacing worn out parts with whatever was available. If this is a very late gun, most parts may be original to the rifle. Also, did you take apart the bolt/trigger assembly?
