7th ID does make sense, Okinawa was the only campaign 10th Army participated in as well so recipient could have joined the Div in Hawaii tor the campaign. Was it common for a soldier to stay within the same Division for their career? -

It's tough to see, unfortunately, but given the quality, it appears privately done. If the engraving was done better, it would be closest to the replacement Purple Hearts sent out in the 1980s. -

I've seen it on another Peters lot card from the same time period so I suspect it was just a peculiarity of that manufacturer. Their proof readers didn't catch it. Still interesting to see. -

Hello All, I acquired this D Guard around a year or so ago from an auction house, and I wanted to share it with experts who can give me their honest thoughts on it. It was supposedly found in a barn in North Carolina. There are no markings that I can see. I’m really interested in whether it appears authentic or not. Any and all feedback is much appreciated.
