I've seen it on another Peters lot card from the same time period so I suspect it was just a peculiarity of that manufacturer. Their proof readers didn't catch it. Still interesting to see. -

Hello All, I acquired this D Guard around a year or so ago from an auction house, and I wanted to share it with experts who can give me their honest thoughts on it. It was supposedly found in a barn in North Carolina. There are no markings that I can see. I’m really interested in whether it appears authentic or not. Any and all feedback is much appreciated. Interesting long service Army Soldier. May have been an NCO later in his career. Most likely a later participant in WW2, Perhaps an Okinawa invasion participant (Arrowhead Device) then Occupation of Japan (occupation ribbon). Then on to Korea and a participant in the Inchon Landings (Invasion Device), and then Vietnam Service... Pure speculation of course but many possibilities of units served the person may have served in. 7th ID, 27th ID, 77th ID, 96th ID all were involved with the Okinawa Invasion. 7th ID participated in the Inchon Landing, so there are some possibilities, but the Korea invasion arrow head could have been for the 187th ABRCT for their combat jumps at Suchon/Sukchon and Musan Ni... So again the possibilities are a little challenging to determine without more information about the person who earned the ribbons Just some more thoughts... Leigh -

. earlymb and myself in email conversation off forum. earlymb and myself are emailing off forum discussing the difference in parts for the Willys Slat Grille which he is restoring and a standard jeep parts. This is a great shot earlymb sent me showing the Fram made oil filter assembly, my Jeep has the Purolator assembly version. I really like this photo showing a Slat Grille being waterproofed for beach landing on D-Day with Asbestos putty / grease. Note it has been plastered all over the distributor and coil. Also note the circular hole cut into the engine hood for a wading tube to be connected to the top of the carburettor. This type of image is ' porn gold ' for Jeep enthusiasts rather than just seeing outside exterior body images most often seen. Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, May 27 2O25. …. -

Just got tuned into this site, Deal or No Deal / DonD on FB and saw this one. Original U.S. WWI African American 506th Engineer Service Battalion Band Photograph with Basketball Hoop - Scrapbook Removed This is a phenomenal 4 1/2 x 6 3/4" photograph of the 506th Engineer (Service Battalion) Regimental Band. The 506th arrived in France on January 17th, 1918, quite early for a service battalion. The drum is great and the basketball hoop is a great addition. From what the back looks like, this was most likely scrapbook-removed. Comes with the sleeve. A very rare photograph. Last photo is the scan. Bit larger than a postcard, quite displayable. -
