French units such as this are highly sought after. I am unfamiliar with these specific units, but the price doesn't seem unreasonable in the slightest and I'd guess they likely fought with Americans.

This patch is a period original. It is theater made. A lot of people would say German made, but I believe a lot of these are French made.

. Spotted whilst watching Sherlock Holmes video.   Watching the 1943 episode of Sherlock Holmes in Washington it was interesting to see from the aircraft the US Navy munitions building to the side of the Lincoln Memorial, this was built in 1918 and finally demolished around 1970.  During the 1980's / 1990's the Vietnam memorial was built on the site or alongside the site of the old Navy factory.  It seems quite strange that such a large munitions factory was built so close to Washington.        Norman D. I have this 15th Cavalry patch, but just checking, as I don't know if this is a German theater made patch or not. Does anybody know? It doesn't glow under blacklight.   Thank you.

I am beginning research for a possible book on the WWII Courtland AAF Pilot Training Field on Courtland, Alabama. I have located several online articles but unfortunately most are only high level overviews and often repetitive information. I request your help in pointing me to books, online sites, or military/government reports which could contain more in-depth information. I am looking for information related to: the base layout maps, the construction process, the reason B-24 pilot training was moved from Chanute to Courtland, and stories about the field. Any help is appreciated.   Charles Cabler, Author, USAF 1962-1968
