Pacific Typhoon at Okinawa, October 1945. Going ashore to "cover" the invasion of Okinawa, Coast Guard Combat Correspondent James C. Bolton (right) is given a lift in a dukw by Staff Sergt. Emmett L. Torbert, a veteran of the Leyte Operation. Coast Guardsman Bolton lives in Paterson, N.J. Torbert's home is at Labarre, LA. -

If you search the US Military Forum, you will find a write up on Woodmen of the World W.O.W. Around 1904-1910 Period they wore uniforms similar to the U.S. Army and wore an example of your badge on their 1902 Style caps. I have seen the same badge on the caps with the complete uniform. In that write up is a photograph of two "Woodmen" wearing the same type of badge. -
