Got this today. The pins must have been on the calling card for a long time.

No markings on the back but the propeller was a separate piece. Theater made? German made?

. The iconic Army Airforce A-2.   I have always adored the iconic American A-2 flying jacket ever since I bought my first original A-2 at seventeen when I bought my first Jeep.  I still have that first original in my collection.  However these days I only wear these two reproduction ones I bought twenty-five years ago, they are actually more broken in and supple than they appear in the photographs, the patches are original ones, the large circular one is the earlier pre-war Army- AirCorp version, I have many compliments on this one when I wear it, it looks the part.         Norman D. The paper with lock of hair states that he was a Lt. Smith with the 6th Illinois infantry. I believe it was cavalry. Very faintly with the lock of hair is written.. “Please remember me”

Please double check first!!!!!! with others here if this is ok but here are some Google search results....   To eliminate odors from cotton clothes when hand washing, start by pretreating odor-prone areas with baking soda or vinegar, then soak the clothes in a solution of baking soda and water or vinegar and water before washing. After washing, ensure the clothes are thoroughly dried, ideally by line drying or in a dryer on a low heat setting. [1, 2, 3]   Detailed Steps:    1. Pre-treat:   • Baking Soda: Sprinkle baking soda directly onto odor-causing areas (like armpits or collars) and let it sit for a few hours. [4, 4]    • Vinegar: Soak the clothing in a mixture of one part vinegar to three parts water for about an hour. This helps break down odor-causing substances. [2, 2]     2. Soak:   • Baking Soda Solution: Dissolve one cup of baking soda in four cups of hot water, then add to a large sink or bucket of cool water. Soak the clothes for at least four hours, or even overnight, according to The Spruce. [1, 1]    • Vinegar Solution: Soak the clothes in a mixture of one part vinegar to three parts water for about an hour before washing. [2, 2]     3. Wash:   • Wash the pre-soaked clothes in a sink or bucket with unscented, heavy-duty laundry detergent. [1, 1, 5, 5]    • Rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of detergent and odor-removing agents. [1, 5]     4. Dry:   • Dry the clothes thoroughly to prevent mildew and lingering odors. Line drying is ideal, especially in the sun. [1, 1, 6, 6]    • If line drying is not possible, use a dryer on a low heat setting. [1, 3, 7, 8]     5. Additional Tips:   • Enzyme Odor Removers: Consider using a laundry booster with enzymes, which can effectively break down odor-causing molecules. [2, 2, 9]    • Essential Oils: Add a few drops of essential oils like lavender or tea tree oil to the wash water for added scent and antibacterial properties. [10, 10]    • Regular Washing: Wash clothes regularly to prevent odors from building up. [2, 2, 11, 12]    • Dry Clothes Thoroughly: Incomplete drying can contribute to odor buildup. [3, 3]     Why these methods work:    • Baking soda: absorbs odors and neutralizes them. [2, 2, 4, 4]   • Vinegar: breaks down odor-causing substances and helps soften fabric. [2, 2, 13, 13]   • Enzymes: break down organic matter that contributes to odors, according to the Spruce. [2, 2, 9, 9, 14]   • Drying: removes moisture, which bacteria and odors need to thrive. I'm not a knife guy really but had a retail gunshop for years ... seem to remember the Parker Bros. came out with a number of knives in the middle 80s and my poor memory suggested that at the time I think they were addressing a military collector's market not a govt. market.

Hello I recently picked up this Pocket knife.  It is marked "United States Marine Corp" on the side.  One blade is marked "can opener" and "Pat pending".  I cannot see a maker mark on the blade or the loop ring.  The blade has seen use and sharpening.  It has brass spacers.  Is this a WW2 knife? Thank you
