My stand out image was during an early morning drive with sun and mist I was passing by Stonehenge when an Apache went into the hover just to the one side of it, almost looked like it was bowing to it before it moved off. No chance to take a photo but an image burned into my memory of the Apache in the early morning mist just a few yards away from those ancient stones. The other fleeting moment was as a kid walking down a lane near my home when a Mosquito flew from left to right a few hundred yards in front of me and at about 500ft., this aircraft was later to crash whilst doing aerobatics at an airshow killing both the crew. The last flying UK Mosquito although one is dues to be delivered in about 2027/28 to be operated out of Kent. There is one that was restored to non flying but can do fast taxying over at East Kirkby Lincs along with Lancaster Just Jane. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1557422151631280 -

FLA __ ICH is all I can make out for certain. The second letter is an L based on the use of all caps I am guessing. This is driving me nuts but I think it’s fladrich -

It’s hard to make out the name, I think I had someone who could read it once but I can’t find where I wrote it down. To me it looks like CHAS_ T. FLA(then a c or an o)_rich or maybe Flaotish? -

Nice helmet. Given what you said about the tight fit of the liner in the shell, I don't think I would remove the liner either. Steve -

great set. I'm the same. I would not remove the liner. Those early chin straps are also very prone to breaking. -
