About that same time I was a kid sailing under that bridge on his way back to the USA from Japan. On that ship there was not a dry eye as we sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge. We were home.

Hi mikie,    Yes the A-10 is also my favourite current aircraft, I stood beneath one once twenty years ago at an airshow, IT'S A MONSTER and that cannon is unbelievable it appeared to be over half the aircraft length if I recall.  Here's a 15 minute video doc for you      . What a great grouping! Local find?

If you ever decide to part with this please reach out to me. My grandfather who name I share fought in this squadron in Korea. After his death my “step grandmother” blacklisted the whole family. Probably will never see any of his war memorabilia again…. 

That would have been a sight to see.  On my one and only trip to New York City about 30 years ago, we were in line for a ferry boat. Two A10 Warthogs flew over from across the harbor and did a tight 360 around the Statue of Liberty.  It was a magnificent sight. A10s are awesome and probably my favorite current combat plane. Wish I had a photo or video.  mikie

Now I see several buckles with the eagle insignia and labeled "ABC" or "American Bowling Congress".  Don't know if that is / was their logo also, or if they sponsored military bowling leagues.  Have written to the American Bowling Museum for information.
