If you ever decide to part with this please reach out to me. My grandfather who name I share fought in this squadron in Korea. After his death my “step grandmother” blacklisted the whole family. Probably will never see any of his war memorabilia again….

That would have been a sight to see.  On my one and only trip to New York City about 30 years ago, we were in line for a ferry boat. Two A10 Warthogs flew over from across the harbor and did a tight 360 around the Statue of Liberty.  It was a magnificent sight. A10s are awesome and probably my favorite current combat plane. Wish I had a photo or video.  mikie

Now I see several buckles with the eagle insignia and labeled "ABC" or "American Bowling Congress".  Don't know if that is / was their logo also, or if they sponsored military bowling leagues.  Have written to the American Bowling Museum for information.

He did receive the CIB, I believe he might've put the EIB on the jacket by mistake or, as we see sometimes, he may have also gotten an EIB and wanted to showcase that decoration over the CIB.    Also, he did not get the Bronze Star until a few years after the war when he appealed for it, so I think he must have gone to a surplus store or something and got pieces to update his uniform and he may have just grabbed an EIB instead.

Sure, I understand. Meanwhile, just in case, here is the list of patent dates, ranging from 1836 to 2021: https://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/ac/ido/oeip/taf/issuyear.htm By the way, here’s a buckle constructed like yours, jsand:     Unfortunately it is unmarked on the reverse.
