Great to see that you have started another project, Manny. The figures are challenging but I´m sure you´ll get them done. Looking forward to seeing the next steps.   Lars

Cool. The pictures remind me of when I was a kid. Dad would often take us on summer drives through the beautiful Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York. I used to go nuts when we would pass convoys and trainloads of military vehicles coming or going to or from nearby Fort Drum, home of the US Army 10th Mountain Division.  mikie

I bought this ratty old 1940 edition BAR manual at the flea market. A kind member of the forum ID’d it to the 1591st Ordinance Supply and Maintenance Company. This unit landed at Omaha Beach on July3,1944 and spent at least a couple of days nearby above the beachhead. They were assigned to a P47 squadron at the airfield near Chappell-en-Juger and were there till moving forward in August. I thought I’d share here due to the local Normandy connection to the founder of this glorious webpage. From what I can tell, the site of the airfield has been a farm field since the war with nothing preserved.  mikie

AS previously mentioned above by Gary Cain, the Schiffer book United States Navy Wings of Gold From 1917 To The Present states the following; "The V-5 Air Cadet wing was not authorized for wear while attending the V-5 Pre-flight School; however, it was authorized while the cadet was in training at primary flight school. The V-5 wing was not authorized for wear after the student received his Naval Aviator wings." Could there have been official US Navy V-5 Air Cadet wings as well as sweetheart wings?

I need your assistance in identifying the acronyms on the 1st Signal Brigade,  CMAV and LLD.  The oval is unknown as well.  None of my references reference either item.. Thank you in advance for your support.   Jim
