Picked up this odd badge over the weekend I am not sure if its military or fire department related or the combination of both. 

I figured I'd show AustinO's referenced patched uniform here together with my variation of the 4th AAMGB Shoulder Insignia.  One would ponder as to why this particular organization (as small as it was) would even have a Liberty Loan insignia produced.  As it turns out E.H. Kluge Weaving Company was located down New York City and evidently a portion of the 4th AAMGB  troops had ties with New York according to the organizational reference above. To bring this kind of full circle, there was another battalion with stronger connections to New York, that also had their unauthorized but worn Shoulder Insignia made  by E.H. Kluge and that was  212th Coast Artillery N.Y.N.G. cicra. 1920’s. The First Army patch with red colored panel between the legs was representative organizations Shoulder Insignia.

Utility Squadron 2 (VJ-2)  Arrived 9/23/1940   Made Chief (ACOM) on 7/8/1941   Mine Warfare school, Yorktown VA 7/14/1941 - 9/26/1941   Arrived VJ-2 Detachment, San Diego 10/13/1941   Promoted to Warrant Gunner 10/3/1942 (backdated to 6/25/1942).

Thrift store find today. Double 82nd , CIB, Badic jump wings with Combat Jump Star. Name and Army tapes removed. Most likely for Panama in ‘89.

Cool. The pictures remind me of when I was a kid. Dad would often take us on summer drives through the beautiful Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York. I used to go nuts when we would pass convoys and trainloads of military vehicles coming or going to or from nearby Fort Drum, home of the US Army 10th Mountain Division.  mikie
