These look exactly like the World War 2 C&GS buttons that I have. The Superior Quality back marks are pretty common for many types of World War 2 buttons. I would say that they are clearly from that time period. -

This patch came with a group from a USMC F-8 pilot who was also in MCAS-9. I think it is related to MCAS-9 but I can't find anything. Any help appreciated -

I can't imagine that there were too many aerial gunners in the Airborne Troop Carrier. That, and an enlisted crewman with a DFC ought to narrow it down considerably. Allan -

Probably not possible to ID based on the awards. DFC and AM are too generic to pin down a specific airman. Whenever I try to ID something based on awards, my baseline is some sort of valor award such as Silver Star or higher. You’d also want to look out for other unique awards (foreign decorations, LOM on an enlisted uniform, etc.).
