Looks like it may have been red with a white stripe at one time, under that gray. -

I've always thought the white border on this patch was just a manufacturer variation. The white border does not "indicate" anything. -

Hello Everyone, Has anyone else seen an Army Service Forces (ASF) Patch with a White Border? Standard WWII construction, cut-edge, and measures about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. Bruce Linz -

I cannot find another wool variation of this online. Most likely early 1955-1957 US made. -

Yeah, I know it needs work. I'm a little broke right now though, because I just spent about $200 on a Vietnam War impression. I have filled up the belt, and am planning on getting an M43 shovel cover. The shovel came with an M56 cover, which is alright, but not accurate for WW2 (obviously). The net was the only one that I had. I hope to get a 1/4 inch one soon, but for now I'll just have to wait. The helmet is not front seam. It is a Chinese reproduction I found for only 20 dollars, so it was alright. I plan on getting an original one soon. I'm going down to the Twin Cities (I live in Minnesota) to get 3 M1 helmets with liners (2 ATF repros and 1 original with a shrimp net). The only bayonet I have right now is a British 1907 Wilkinson bayonet. I hope to purchase an American one once I finally come across some more money. Thank you for all the tips, Wade
