Another possibility could be, since they were available sold as Sweetheart wings like pictured above its possible some Instructors or Teachers may have decided to give them as graduation gifts / They did develop friendships another letter mentions a teacher inviting them for Christmas dinner                       ;

The problem for me isn’t necessarily putting myself out there, Imm not aloud to sell anything online and that kind of thing. So it’s certainly hard for me to get money and to downsize and shape my collection how I want to. I’ve been wanting to sell some of my stuff here to get a few bucks and to put it towards stuff I actually want. But J can’t do that because I’m not aloud to. And I don’t know anyone In the area that’s really buying that kind of stuff. Anyways, don’t want to steal this thread like I did with “why did you join the service” 🤣

White cap is dads.   Sons has the shoulder cord on the right but nothing else.  Blue cap is son's.   Dad enlisted in 1918 and son in 43.  More details in the dedicated post.
