This picture was taken 45' at Fairfield-Suisun ( Travis Airbase ) the 2nd in a series of 2 upon his arrival from Biak in the southwest pacific area. Disney's handy work is evident. Here's a close up. Very few of these patches are in existence today. A rarity is an understatement. -

Guess I’m reviving this thread because it’s the closest one I could find. When did USMC blues go from flat back without a split tail like this to the split back with fish tails? I have uniforms of both types traced by name to wwii marines. Thank you all, for your contributions -
