Evening all.    Picked up a BDU with this patch on the sleeve. My initial guess was a transport unit. However I can not identify the unit from any of my research.    Any help is appreciated

Interesting letter.  Says the pistol was supposed to use ".38 S&W Special Cartridge & U.S. Service Cartridge".  This strikes me as interesting... was there some distinction between the .38 S&W and the service cartridge?

Now we know that they are the honor badge of many women who worked at the Lansing Oldsmobile plant.    

CavalryCombatant is spot-on .   I'll just add this tid-bit on the brassards from my experience.  During the '70's stateside at my location which was a garrison MP company both felt & vinyl/leather were issued from supply.  Additionally, you could pick vinyl/leather and more elaborate brassards off post which were commonly worn.   When I transferred to Germany and went to an MP battalion, supply issued the felt type brassards and again, one could also pick-up vinyl/leather and more elaborate brassards off post in small shops on the German economy which were commonly worn and probably much more preferred.   Ed

You probably have a complete medal grouping, as WW1 KIA’s did not receive a Purple Heart.   The lady in the grave side photo is probably wearing a Gold Star Mother Medal.  Nice find.  

I've actually seen a few of the wings, and each time, it was represented to me as being a Pathfinder wing. One of them had the low, low price of $1,000 on it. One of the people that offered one to me gave me a whole ration of "stuff" because I hadn't included the "rare insignia" in my ASMIC article on WWII Pathfinder badges.   Allan
