Okay, I will start it off, pics of ammunition containers….the best part, all these ammo crates have the correct ordnance pieces inside. Normally in my “ museum”, but I drag them out to Events a couple times a year….a major effort.

I cant find too much else about him, but from what I do know is that he was on D-day either on a C-46 or C-47 delivering troops or supplies on d day. Helped delivered the 82nd    The 86th Troop Carrier Squadron would in multiple other airborne assaults, such as dragoon, market garden, and varsity.   He most likely was in these assaults as well. If anyone can find out more about Robert Bruckner I would appreciate it greatly

That is awesome! Most of these end up in the landfill anyway, so being able to have them displayed and hopefully inspire future members of the Navy is really great. 

Great thank you for clarifying, what about the patch on his jacket in the photo?     He was assigned to the USS Antietam in WW2, when it was launched.  Are those patches from WW2 or Korea?   Also, he served as an aviation gunner in WW2 but changed to an aviation radioman and served aboard the USS Wright (CVL-49) during the Korean War.

The first one is VT-95 but Im not sure if they were on USS Antietam... VT-89 was there for sure!   Second one is VT-51 USS San Jacinto          

Flight Suit from James Hutton. He was shot over Vietnam were he would remain a POW for over 7 years

I am the Senior Naval Science Instructor at Doherty High School Navy JROTC in Colorado Springs.  For the past 10 months I have been purchasing off EBAY historic naval plaques  . I have also received several donations. I have collected over 160 brass, aluminum and resin plaques for permanent display. I believe we have the largest permanent display in the country. Not bad for a high school.  I'm looking for more 1940-1980 ship, submarine or aviation plaques for permanent display. I've personally spent $6000 on this effort. Donations would be great but I'm willing to purchase if cost is low.  I started this project because these plaques I feel are ending up in landfills as older members pass away and families don't know what to do with them.
