USN / Destroyer Squadron 3 (Cruiser Destroyer Flotilla three), “Fortune favors boldness”, Japanese-made Konwal Baby (size mini). According to history.navy.mil, the insignia of that shape was in use in 1960-1969. -

. Victory in Europe ( VE ) week in the UK. Numerous British landmarks are being illuminated this week for celebrating the 80th year since the end of the war on 8th of May 1944. This one I particularly like as it features a statue of Britain' s great wartime leader Winston Churchill and the tower of Big Ben illuminated with the National flag. Norman D. Upon more research on the subject, the designation you described only lasted from 1962 to 1966. Undoubtably a rare piece of insignia. Do any forum members have an example?
