Thanks, I already did that; based on photo's that show the original factory numbers the W was dropped between W-2038565 and 2038700:       I think the d.o.d. of these jeeps would be late December 1941.

WELL DONE!  I've had many of the message center clocks over the years, ditto U.S.N. Deck clocks; many not running but I never had the skill or motivation to restore / re mfg.  A salute to you.  If I can get the energy to dig it out, I'll soon post a U.S.N. cased chronometer.

Hello, all.   I stumbled onto this forum while looking for information about bayonets. I have been going through some of my dad’s things, and found that he had acquired a few, so I set out to learn what I could.    He was a Navy Veteran, having served 30 years between active duty and the reserves. Over time, I hope to share a few items from his service or that he otherwise collected here.

Holy smokes! I had to post about this thread  going since 2007, and still going strong! Well done everyone!    Really neat fences, by the way.  mikie

Just got this oversized, 7 1/2 x 11", 5-7th Cavalry Patch with "An Khe 66" reference to the Central Highlands campaign.. Reverse is stamped "Hung Dao Saigon". It appears to have been removed from something...flag or jacket?    Any input would be appreciated.

Always a fan of Cavalry material. Such an elegant uniform, the 1902 Officers dress uniform must have had a quite the presence from Peking to Manilla. Evokes America's entry onto the global stage.

My wife likes to collect WWII "sweet heart " jewelry.  She found this at a local flea market.  The gunners wings are marked sterling.

Amazing work! I really like the tarps and nets thrown over the front fenders. How did you make those?   ...Kat
