I see these late stage war Purple Hearts and feel so sorry for the family and person who was killed. Only a little time until the end of the war. Had the Japanese been less fanatical, they may have saved thousands of lives on both sides. -

Always has a soft spot for the 82nd and now I’ll have a piece of it in my collection. However, I know next to nothing about how the 50s were for the unit. Unnamed inside, some scattered laundry numbers also inside which doesn’t give me much hope on identifying the guy but the DIVARTY oval was enough for me to love it. Dated to April 1950 and has a zipper installed and sewn down buttons. -

An exceptionally well documented Vietnam War Trophy M44 Hungarian Carbine and Viet Cong Flag souvenir from an officer in the 1st Cavalry Division in 1969. The rifle is in unfired condition as liberated from a major NVA weapons cache. Acquired directly from the officer. -

There's a website where you can look up the laundry number. The issue is you may get multiple matches. And there definitely squadron rolls out there. -

How would you research the owner? Do you have rolls from the group? Seems like a long shot to do via obituary, if you don't have rosters. I'm curious as I am trying to get better at research. -

Hi I have joined this forum to try and find some information on a badge. I found it in my grandfather‘s World War I and World War II memorabilia that he brought back with him.. it looks like something to do with the US army corp engineers thanks Lee
