Now we'll need to review the difference between 'true' and 'magnetic' courses when giving the helmsman instructions... (we'll save 'relative' courses for a later lesson) PS Hink, now you'll need one of these for your home bridge -

Given the plastic edge on the visor and the corfam like finish on the visor, I would wager it is post WWII. Steve -

You're absolutely right, i also know that the 2nd Infantry Bde was separate as well at Ft. Devens Mass in and around the 1958-62 period before going to the Big Red One & Vietnam. Obviously without A/B tab. In the patches in action section of the forum it has been featured. I have read in the forum that the patch was offered in a catalog maybe patch king or something like that without the tab so there were second brigade patches being made during & immediately post war as well for sale to collectors. You can differentiate these from the Vietnam era or late 1950 era types by looking at the backs the tightness of the weave the glue coating on the back and there are several different variants from its time at fort devens. It's kind of confusing but I've been studying this patch trying to make sense of it all. Lol -

Here is another photo I bought from eBay from a seller in the UK. looks like a 1st lieutenant and a British royal army Pay corps officer. What’s really interesting is the 1st lieutenant is wearing a soaring glider patch. Which I only believe was worn by members of the 327th and 401s GIR, 101st airborne. -

Here is one of many photos I have that I’ve bought from eBay. I don’t know what unit or PIR this paratrooper is in, but I believe he might be in the 508th PIR of the 82nd airborne from research on units in Frankfurt at the time. -

You can take the soft armor out and machine wash the carrier if needed.
