Find-a-Grave comes to the rescue again: Lieutenant Thomas Hamil Reidy, U.S. Naval Reserve, was born 20 April 1913 and died at age 60, 23 February 1974. It is unusual for Find-a-Grave results that no place of death or burial is stated, so we have no picture of his grave site but there is a photo of Lieutenant Reidy as shown here: And, of course, there his the citation for Lieutenant Reidy's Navy Cross as shown here: Awarded Navy Cross for actions during the World War II The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Lieutenant Thomas Hamil Reidy (NSN: 0-127691), United States Naval Reserve, for extraordinary heroism in operations against the enemy while serving as Pilot of a carrier-based Navy Fighter Plane in Bombing Fighting Squadron EIGHTY-THREE (VBF-83), attached to the U.S.S. ESSEX (CV-9), in the attack against units of the Japanese Fleet in the harbor of Kure, Japan, on 24 July 1945. During the action, Lieutenant Reidy sighted a Japanese heavy cruiser and, in the face of extremely intense anti-aircraft fire, he made a highly skillful and courageous lone attack on the enemy warship, scoring a direct hit with his bomb as a result of which the warship was seriously damaged. His aggressiveness, skill and courage were at all times inspiring and in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service. -

Dave, thank you so much for your help on IDing this bar. The initial recipient I thought it was was from the help of a good friend of mine, and the decorations at the time seemed to line up, albeit I thought it may have been a war time issue bar that was not his final made example. Your sleuth work clearly pinpointed the recipient and makes much more sense. thank you again!! -

This forum is a good place to start. I am not a uniform collector, so I don't think I can be of much help to you, but I never know what I may run across if I know what I am looking for. I would suggest posting a picture of what you are looking for. What size you are looking for. Anything specific on you are looking for. What price range you are willing to pay, then just ask if anyone runs across a jacket like this, please keep me in mind. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. I don't know what shipping from the US to Sweden would be. That may be something you want to check into first. It could be cost prohibitive from here. There are a several members in Europe, so you may check postage from there as well before you make your decision. -

Shelby Stanton's Vietnam Order of Battle may have some info. I'm in the process of moving and my copy is packed away somewhere, otherwise I'd look it up for you. -

Hello Fellow Members, Are these WWII bullion pilots wings English or US made? The backing material appears to be the standard US Army officer tunic material. Many Thanks! Dave. -

Anyways to actually contribute to the topic, I believe the sixth ID painted the 6 sided star on helmet going into the Meuse Argon, I may be wrong, but I feel like I have seen photos or read something about that in a period unit paper or something of the sort. -

Note the subject is "pre armistice division/unit marked helmets, " so that's WW1. The WW1 9th Division was formed late in the war and did not go overseas.
