Anyone interested in the Indian Wars, in particular Custer's last stand, will be interested in seeing the attached. History dates this item, which I can not read the writing on the original care but along time ago someone was able to. It reads as follows: "Shell from the spot where Gen. Custer was killed. The stars were from the uniform worn by Maj. Osborne of Quantrell Guerillas though the War. Presented by Maj. Benj.Osborne." "From the Wright Collection " The yellow portion of the epaulet with the 7 & clusters on each side I picked up somewhere & added it to the grouping. An item like this belongs in a museum, but I don't know what museum. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated? -

A later enlistment in the War likely, single campaign star and Philippine Liberation can narrow down service to either Leyte or Luzon sometime between Oct-Dec '44 to Jul '45. -

Most of them did. Had the Spring 1919 offensive happened, many of these late-war men would have had very different experiences. Fantastic booklet! Warm regards! Chris -

. hi mikie, yes I think it's time to put the camera back in its box, we have over-exposed this one . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I'll just throw some light on this one, May the 12th & 13th was always a bad time of the year for me, over the period of time I had three girlfriends and two had their birthdays on either the 12 or the 13th ????? and the third one had her birthday on the opposite day which was either the 13 or the 12th, all very confusing trying to remember which was which each year, and purgatory if I sent cards a day early or late, it's my ex-wife's birthday today, but as I no longer send a card then no problem. 😂 Norman D. As has been said, the OP's example is a later production "4-Line" Phrobis Army contract piece. I note the scabbard also has the "short-tail" strap at bottom of the stone cover flap. Earlier M9s had a longer "tail" which could get hung up with the blade in "wire-cutting" mode, so they were made shorter thereafter. -

. Amphibious Jeeps. Ben Carlin and his wife circumnavigated the world in a converted amphibious Jeep called Half-safe, here's another chopped down amphibious Jeep and called Half-Seep, a play on words Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, May 12 2O25. …. -

🤣 Ha! Let’s rewind this conversation and see if we missed anything. Unless someone had any more to add, it may be time to shutter this one down. mikie -

. just picture it. . . . . . you need to snap out of this and focus on what makes you click, just zoom in for a good time and focus on the positives not the negatives and get in the right frame of mind. Did I pull most of the photography puns in that sentence . . . . . . . . . Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, May 12 2O25. …. -

I do want to thank you for posting this. The advancements in manufacturing processes does at times make our jobs at separating originals from facsimiles harder as time goes on. Information is priceless.
